Around San Marino looking for princesses, knights and witches
According to our original plan for this summer holidays, after ten days in Tuscany, we should have spent a week at home in the mountains. We tried to stick to that plan, but since the weather was so miserable and the temperature unbearably cold for the season, we re-scheduled on the fly and booked a week at the beach in Emilia Romagna.
While we were there, we had the chance to visit the beautiful Republic of San Marino, the third smallest country in Europe. We took the panoramic aerial tramway that brought us up to the city of San Marino, on top of Monte Titano, and we started our visit.
We had a great time looking for princesses in danger, brave knights and evil witches in the three medieval towers each of which is located on a peak of Monte Titano, but this time we could not find any! So, we left with the promise that we will give it another try next time we pass by.
Secondo il nostro programma iniziale per queste vacanze estive, dopo dieci giorni in Toscana avremmo dovuto trascorrere una settimana a casa in montagna. Abbiamo cercato di attenerci a questo piano, ma dato che il tempo era così inclemente e le temperature insopportabilmente basse per la stagione, abbiamo ri-programmato al volo e prenotato una settimana al mare in Emilia Romagna.
Mentre eravamo lì, abbiamo avuto l’occasione di visitare la splendida Repubblica di San Marino, il terzo paese più piccolo d’Europa. Abbiamo preso la funivia panoramica che ci ha portato fino alla città di San Marino, sulla cima del Monte Titano, e da lì abbiamo iniziato la nostra visita.
Ci siamo divertite un sacco alla ricerca di principesse in pericolo, cavalieri coraggiosi e streghe malvagie tra le tre torri medievali, ognuna delle quali si trova su un cucuzzolo del Monte Titano… ma questa volta non siamo riuscite a trovarne! Così, ce ne siamo andate con la promessa che faremo sicuramente un altro tentativo la prossima volta che passeremo di là!
