The night before Christmas
We found it rather difficult to write this post since our pictures speak of love and happiness, warmth and wealth, glitters and sparkles, and we are well aware that this is a difficult time for many families and we must consider ourselves lucky for everything is around us.
As usual, the night before Christmas we had a good time putting the presents for adults under grandma’s tree and then, we went upstairs, to aunt’s, to celebrate the birthday of our little cousin Stefano. It was a time of joy and family warmth that we often miss during everyday life.
We want to leave you with a quote taken from another bed time story, that Anna in particular likes very much, and that we find very close to the our thoughts “I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach!”
Scrivere questo post è stato particolarmente difficile, dal momento che le nostre foto parlano di amore e di felicità, di calore e di benessere, di lucine e di scintillii, mentre siamo ben consapevoli che questo è un periodo difficile per molte famiglie e che dobbiamo ritenerci fortunate per tutto quanto ci circonda.
Come ogni anno, la sera prima di Natale ci siamo divertite a riporre i regali per i grandi sotto l’albero della nonna e poi siamo salite al piano di sopra, a casa della zia, per celebrare il compleanno del nostro cuginetto Stefano. E’ stato un momento di gioia e di calore famigliare che spesso ci mancano nella vita di tutti i giorni.
Vogliamo lasciarvi con una citazione presa da un’altra storia che leggiamo ogni tanto prima di andare a letto, che piace particolarmente ad Anna, e che troviamo vicina ai pensieri di questo momento “Onorerò il Natale nel mio cuore e cercherò di conservarmi in questo stato d’animo per tutto l’anno. Vivrò nel passato, nel presente e nel futuro. Gli spiriti di tutti e tre vivranno dentro di me. Non voglio dimenticare le loro lezioni.”
