Finding the snow
We are well aware that not every city experiences a “White Christmas”, but for people like us, who come from the mountains, it’s rather odd not to. In fact, we strongly associate this time of the year to white landscapes, snow balls, skiing and sledding, hot chocolate and crackling fire. This year we had to cope with an uninspiring green Christmas and not even a flake.
But since every cloud has a silver lining, we enjoyed the warm weather and the sunny days after Christmas hanging out in our hometown and doing some strolls in its oldest part, which is always fascinating and, for the girls in particular, full of things to discover.
Soon it was time to pack and leave for our next holiday destination: dad’s Christmas present! We got to know and see from the web, that the snow has finally arrived covering everything with its irresistible white blanket, but by that time, we were far, far away to… all the details soon on the blog.
Siamo ben consapevoli del fatto che non tutte le città ed i paesi sperimentano un “Bianco Natale”, ma per chi, come noi, viene dalla montagna, è piuttosto strano il contrario. Infatti, per noi questo periodo dell’anno è strettamente associato a paesaggi bianchi, palle di neve, sci e slittini, cioccolata calda ed un fuoco scoppiettante attorno al quale accoccolarsi. Quest’anno abbiamo dovuto accontentarci di un poco entusiasmante Natale verde e nemmeno un fiocco di neve.
Tuttavia, dato che ogni cosa ha un suo lato positivo, ci siamo godute il tepore delle giornate di sole dopo Natale, nel nostro paesino, facendo alcune passeggiate nella sua parte più antica, che è sempre affascinante e, per le ragazze in particolare, piena di cose da scoprire.
Presto – forse troppo – è stata ora di fare nuovamente le valigie e di partire per la nostra successiva destinazione: il regalo di Natale del papà! Solo dopo, abbiamo saputo, e visto su internet, che la neve è finalmente arrivata coprendo tutto con il suo irresistibile manto bianco, ma in quel momento, eravamo molto, molto lontane… tutti i dettagli presto sul blog!
