When we first saw Magil’s cupcakes line for spring 2015, we immediately thought that it would have been perfect to close our series dedicated to food in fashion and Expo2015. After all, everyone ends their meal with a dessert!
Magil is a brand that we discovered quite unexpectedly during Pitti Bimbo 79 and that we are following since. The story behind it is both fascinating and touching. Established in Crema in 1966, Magil soon became very popular for the high quality of the fabrics, the finishes of great value, and the sophisticated Italian style.
In recent years, the brand suffered and started to fade until it met Maria Chiara Maggi; a young designer who initially joined the company as a stylist and eventually bought Magil to make it grow, investing all her savings. Together with her, a team of young people who are willing to bet on their abilities and talents. Nowadays these are the stories that we like to tell, stories that testify Italian courage and excellence.

Quando abbiamo visto per la prima volta la linea cupcakes di Magil abbiamo immediatamente pensato che sarebbe stata perfetta per chiudere la nostra serie dedicata al cibo nella moda ed Expo2015. Dopo tutto, a ciascuno di noi piace concludere il pasto con un dolcetto!
Magil è un marchio che abbiamo scoperto quasi per caso al Pitti Bimbo 79 e che da allora non abbiamo smesso di seguire. La sua storia è al tempo stesso affascinante e toccante. Fondata a Crema nel 1966, Magil divenne presto molto famosa per l’alta qualità dei tessuti, le finiture di grande pregio, ed il sofisticato stile italiano.
Negli ultimi anni, il marchio aveva iniziato a soffrire e ad indebolirsi fino a che non ha incontrato Maria Chiara Maggi; una giovane designer che é inizialmente entrata in azienda come stilista e che alla fine ha deciso di acquistare il marchio per farlo crescere, investendo tutti suoi risparmi.
Insieme a lei un gruppo di giovani pronti a rischiare e a scommettere sulle loro capacità e sul loro talento. In questo periodo, queste sono le storie che ci piace raccontare, storie che testimoniano il coraggio e l’eccellenza italiana.
