Discovering Milan with Elsy girl fall winter 2015

We end our series dedicated to winter flowers, with a romantic look from the stunning Elsy girl fall winter 2015 collection, and the second part of our stroll to the Vicolo dei Lavandai, one of Milan’s historical alleys, that takes its name from an ancient laundry that is still in existence.
Oddly enough, the alley is named after the male, not the female laundry workers, because in the 19th century it was always the men who were employed in the washing service. You can still see the stone stands used by the washers to scrub the clothes. And you can imagine them coming there, early in the morning, with buckets, brushes and detergent; kneel on the wooden kneelers and start working and singing. The girls loved this place and you?

Concludiamo questa serie di post dedicati ai fiori d’inverno con un look romantico, tratto dalla splendida collezione autunno inverno 2015 di Elsy (questa volta vi mostriamo la linea per ragazze), e con la seconda parte della nostra passeggiata al Vicolo dei Lavandai. Uno dei luoghi storici di Milano, che prende il nome da un’antica lavanderia ancora in esercizio.
Stranamente, il vicolo è dedicato ai lavandai, non alle lavandaie, perché nel diciannovesimo secolo erano gli uomini ad occuparsi del servizio di lavaggio. Si possono ancora vedere gli stalli di pietra utilizzati dai lavoratori per strofinare i panni, e li si possono facilmente immaginare arrivare di buon mattino, muniti di secchi, spazzole e detergente, inginocchiarsi sui “brellin” di legno ed iniziare a lavorare cantando. Alle bimbe il posto è piaciuto moltissimo e a voi?
