The colours of Christmas Gold
The colours of Christmas gold with Anna and Quis Quis fall winter 2016 gold dress
We’re not sure what you are up to and how you feel this last day of holiday. Here at FKF we are attempting to avoid depression. Mum is preparing the tenth washing machine in less than 24 hours, while planning our Easter holiday (it’s the only way she can survive!). Anna is finishing her homework (it’s still a long way to go!) and Alice is playing with Palla on the carpet. Despite all, we will try our best to enjoy this last day of holiday to the fullest!
In the meantime, here is the third and final part of our series The colours of Christmas gold (first part is red, second part is green). The use of the gold colour at Christmas depicts the incident of the Magi, that is celebrated on Epiphany, January 6. In fact, the third king who visited Jesus after his birth gave gold as a gift (the other were frankincense and myrrh). Traditionally gold is the colour used to show the star that the wise men followed. Gold is the colour of giving, the colour of the Sun and light.
And gold is the dress that our Anna is wearing on these pics. We originally planned to shoot The colours of Christmas gold with Ariana at the Museo del novecento, together with the other colours. However, we had such a tight schedule that we had to give up something and decided on this. We hope you’ll like it anyway.
Non sappiamo cosa stiate facendo e come vi sentiate in questo ultimo giorno di vacanza. Qui a FKF stiamo cercando in ogni modo di evitare la depressione. La mamma sta preparando la decima lavatrice in meno di 24 ore, mentre pianifica le vacanze di Pasqua (crediamo siamo l’unico modo che ha per sopravvivere!). Anna sta finendo i compiti (siamo ancora in alto mare!) ed Alice sta giocando con Palla sul tappeto. Ciò nonostante, faremo del nostro meglio per goderci al massimo questo ultimo giorno di vacanza!
Nel mentre, ecco la terza ed ultima parte della nostra serie I colori del Natale: l’oro (la prima parte è il rosso, la seconda è il verde). L’uso dell’oro a Natale é legato all’episodio dei Magi che si celebra il 6 gennaio, giorno dell’Epifania. Infatti, il terzo re che fece visita a Gesù dopo la sua nascita portò in dono dell’oro (gli altri doni furono incenso e mirra). Tradizionalmente oro è anche il colore della stella cometa che i re-magi seguirono per arrivare al bambino. Oro è il colore dell’offerta, del sole e della luce.
E oro è anche l’abito che la nostra Anna indossa in queste foto. Avevamo originariamente programmato di fotografarlo con Ariana, al Museo del Novecento, insieme agli altri colori del Natale. Tuttavia, con la fitta programmazione della giornata abbiamo dovuto rinunciare a qualcosa, e deciso per questo. Speriamo vi piaccia anche in questo contesto.
