Design Week 2017 for kids: all the events of Salone del Mobile and Fuorisalone

From the 4^th to the 9^th of April, Milan will host Design Week 2017, the most important appointment worldwide for design addicted! It encompasses Salone del Mobile, the international furniture fair which takes place in the pavilions of Rho Fiera Milano, and Fuorisalone, a series of events distributed throughout the city.
This year more that any others, kids will have a great deal to do, for a proper Design Week 2017 for kids: events, workshops, creative laboratories, and much more! As per our tradition (see here) we will dedicate this week to the kid’s fashion brands featuring geometrical patterns: stripes, polka dots and abstract prints. But for now: enjoy our guide with all the appointments of this Design Week 2017 for kids.

Dal 4 al 9 aprile, Milano ospiterà la Design Week 2017, il più importante evento internazionale per gli appassionati di design. Filoni principali della settimana sono il Salone del Mobile, la fiera internazionale che si svolgerà negli spazi di FieraMilano a Rho, e il Fuorisalone, una serie di eventi dislocati in varie parti della città.
Quest’anno più che mai, i bambini avranno un sacco di cose fare durante la Design Week: eventi, workshop, laboratori creativi, e molto altro ancora! Come di consueto (vedi qui) dedicheremo questa settimana ai marchi di moda bimbo che presentano motivi geometrici: righe, pois e stampe astratte. Ma per ora: ecco la nostra guida con gli appuntamenti per i più piccoli di questa Design Week 2017.

TUESDAY THE 4^TH OF APRIL – MARTEDÌ 4 APRILE

What: KDSGN go Walk
Where: Porta Romana district – Via Novi, 2
When: from the 4^th to the 9^th of April, from 10.00AM to 8.00PM
KDSGN organises 5 tours specifically conceived for kids from 5 to 12, in the main areas of Milan Design Week. Each tour will last about two hours and it will be led by a professional who will interview the designers in the showrooms and in the various installations, making it easy for a kid to understand. Tours for schools and groups (minimum 10 children) will be held from Tuesday to Friday. Tours for families will be held during the weekend. All the details here

KDSGN – we were kids, organizza 5 visite guidate pensate specificamente per i bambini tra i 5 e i 12 anni, nelle zone più importanti del mondo del design meneghino. Ogni tour durerà circa due ore e sarà guidata da un professionista che intervisterà i designer negli showroom e presso le varie installazioni, rendendo il tema più facile da capire per un bimbo. What: Monnalisa living
Where: Quadrilatero district – Via Della Spiga, 52
When: from the 4^th to the 9^th of April, store opening hours
Monnalisa launches living, a new amazing furniture line in collaboration with Savio Firmino. To celebrate the event, an augmented reality experience will be waiting for you in their Milan boutique. And if you are too curious to wait, you can see a preview in this beautiful video. We are already in love with it!

Monnalisa lancia living, la nuova meravigliosa linea di mobili, realizzata in collaborazione con Savio Firmino. Per celebrare l’evento, un’esperienza di realtà aumentata vi aspetterà presso la boutique di Milano. What: unduetrestella DESIGN WEEK – #DontStop
Where: 5 giornate district – Via Enrico Besana, 12 (MUBA – Museo dei Bambini Milano)
When: from the 4^th to the 9^th of April, from 9.30AM to 6.30PM
Unduetrestella turns the areas of MUBA into an exhibition of design projects presented through the several activities of life and growth of all children. The claim of this unduetrestella edition is #DontStop: do not stop being a child because childhood is, and will be forever, the time for playing and imagination.

Unduetrestella trasforma lo spazio del MUBA in una mostra di progetti di design raccontati attraverso le diverse attività che caratterizzano la vita e la crescita di tutti i bambini. La parola iconica di questa edizione di unduetrestella é #DontStop: non smettere di essere un bambino perché l’infanzia è, e sarà sempre, il tempo per il gioco e la fantasia.

WEDNESDAY THE 5^TH OF APRIL – MERCOLEDÌ 5 APRILE

What: Casa Stokke
Where: Tortona district – Via Novi, 2
When: from the 5^th to the 9^th of April, from 10.00AM to 8.00PM
Casa Stokke is a space conceived to present the latest collections of the Norwegian brand, while offering services to both parents and children so that they will be able to fully enjoy their experience at Fuorisalone. Casa Stokke encompasses a food area, realised in collaboration with Alceo Nero, a nursing area, a playground area and a baby carrier and stroller courtesy service.
The space hosts a plentiful calendar of events dedicated to parents with babies from 0 – 2 years and workshops for children from 3 to 6 years. All the details here

Casa Stokke è uno spazio polifunzionale concepito per presentare le ultime collezioni del marchio norvegese, offrendo servizi sia ai genitori che ai bambini così che possano godere appieno della loro esperienza al Fuorisalone. Casa Stokke comprende una zona food, realizzatA in collaborazione con Alceo Nero, un’area allattamento e una cambio, un parco giochi e un servizio di cortesia con marsupi e passeggini. THURSDAY THE 6^TH OF APRIL – GIOVEDÌ 6 APRILE
What: The Barbie Dreamhouse comes true!
Where: Brera district – Corso Como, 5
When: 6^th of April only, from 8.00PM
Number 5 of Corso Como turns into a real Barbie Dreamhouse during the Design Week! You will be able to attend to the “Real Barbie Dreamhouse”, a video mapping show, the new frontier of technology that projects images in computer graphics on real surfaces, with special effects and 3D projection.

Cosa: La casa dei sogni di Barbie diventa realtà!

Quando: 6 aprile, dalle 20:00
Corso Como 5 si trasforma in una vera e propria casa dei sogni di Barbie per la Design Week! Potrete partecipare al “Real Barbie Dreamhouse”, uno spettacolo che grazie al video mapping, la nuova frontiera della tecnologia che proietta immagini in computer grafica su superfici reali, vi farà assistere alla “costruzione” della casa dei sogni di Barbie.

FRIDAY THE 7^TH OF APRIL – VENERDÌ 7 APRILE

When: from the 7^th to the 9^th of April, from 7.00 PM first day
Rigotondo nursery, in partnership with HASBRO, presents Kids Corner Brera, a variety of entertainment activities, creative laboratories and animations for kids only, beginning with the usual appointment Pizza&Cinema. Service is available for kids aged 3 years and up. Booking is mandatory.

This hidden farmstead opens to the public for the Design Week hosting designers and artists. Both on Saturday and Sunday there will be some workshops for kids in the morning from 10.00AM to 1.00PM and in the afternoon from 3.00PM to 7.00PM.

Questa cascina nascosta si apre al pubblico in occasione della Design Week 2017 per ospitare designer e artisti. Sia Sabato che Domenica ci saranno alcuni laboratori per bambini al mattino dalle 10.00 alle 13:00, il pomeriggio dalle 15:00 alle 19:00.

What: Mini Wonders. Czech contemporary design for kids

When: from the 4^th to the 9^th of April, activities specific for kids on the 8^th of April
Mini Wonders is an exhibition that show the work of seven designers from the Czech Republic whose production includes toys, textiles, furniture. Mini Wonders encompasses a variety of wonderful creations focused on the creativity and imagination of the world of children.

Kindness, complex in its simplicity, multiform, hard to define and contemporary than ever, will be the hint for a spiritual interdisciplinary reflection from the students and teachers od the School of Design. Over the weekend, bloggers from ZigZagMoms and FamilyWelcome will offer workshops for children and parents in the Kids&Young area: “Gardening: from the seed to the plant” and “Creative: the bed of my dreams”.

Quando: dal 4 al 9 aprile, le attività dedicate ai bambini sono concentrare nel fine settimana
La gentilezza, concetto complesso nella sua semplicità, multiforme, arduo da definire e oggi quanto mai contemporaneo, diviene spunto per una riflessione progettuale interdisciplinare da parte di studenti e docenti della Scuola del Design. Durante il fine settimana, le blogger di ZigZagMoms e FamilyWelcome offriranno laboratori per bambini e genitori nella zona Kids&Young: “Dal seme alla pianta” e “Il letto dei miei sogni”.
