Elsy spring summer 2017 stripes nautical inspiration in white and blue
Did you know that originally the navy-and-white-striped pattern was used on the back of shirts to made it easier to spot sailors who fell overboard? Honestly, we did not! Thus, at the end of the nineteenth century, the so-called Breton stripes knitted shirt became the uniform for all French navy seaman in Brittany, and since then, it evolved from a pure military thing to a stylish and elegant one.
For this season, Elsy presents a nautical inspired line, available for both babies and girls, where stripes are the stars. Strictly navy-and-white, with a touch of light blue, Elsy spring summer 2017 stripes characterise easy to wear dresses and tops matched with white shorts, but also more elegant blazers and wide trousers, perfect for summer night.

Lo sapevate che originariamente il motivo a righe bianco e blu veniva usato sul retro delle magliette dei marinai per rendere più facile l’individuazione e il recupero di quelli che cadevano in mare? Onestamente noi no! Così, alla fine dell’Ottocento la cosiddetta maglietta a righe “Breton” è diventata l’uniforme di tutti i marinai francesi in Bretagna, per poi evolversi da un motivo squisitamente militare ad uno elegante e di tendenza.
Per questa stagione, Elsy presenta una linea ispirata alla nautica, disponibile sia per le bimbe che per le ragazze, dove le strisce sono protagoniste indiscusse. Rigidamente blue e bianche, con qualche inserto in azzurro, le righe della collezione primavera estate 2017 di Elsy caratterizzano abiti facili da indossare e top da abbinare a calzoncini abbinati, ma anche più eleganti blazer e ampi pantaloni da marinaio perfetti per le notti estive.
In queste foto vedete Anna che indossa un abitino senza maniche a righe nautiche orizzontali con dettagli in pizzo e paillettes al collo – splendido, in verità, è anche quello svasato con righe a lisca di pesce.
