Hotel Villa Casalecchi and Aletta spring summer 2017

With a big bump and two kids – our third is due mid-September – this year we couldn’t organize anything particularly fancy or exotic for our summer holidays! So, we decided to spend the two weeks that daddy had in the beautiful Tuscany (see also here and here).
We left Milan on August the 7^th towards Florence where we spent one night. We wanted the girls to see it, and in particular the city centre with the stunning Duomo area, Piazza della Signoria, Santa Maria Novella and Ponte Vecchio. Mom visits it at least twice a year, for Pitti Bimbo, but she does not really have the time to walk around and enjoy its beauty, so she was the one who liked it the most.
The day after we headed south, towards the Chianti area, and in the early afternoon we arrived to Hotel Villa Casalecchi where we stayed for three days and two nights. The location is strategic for visiting the area: Siena, San Giminiano and Monteriggioni. We used to go out in the morning, have lunch in the place we were visiting and spend the afternoon at the Villa, enjoying the pool, the garden and the park around it. Renewed by the famous architect Giuseppe Poggi during the 19^th century, the villa is gorgeous with its 17 rooms with antique furnishings, the elegant dining room and the two sitting rooms. It also features a private chapel with frescoes.

Con il pancione e due bimbe ancora relativamente piccole – aspettiamo il terzo bimbo per metà settembre – quest’anno non potevamo organizzare qualcosa di particolarmente fantasioso o esotico per le nostre vacanze estive! Quindi, abbiamo deciso di trascorrere le due settimane a disposizione del papà nella meravigliosa Toscana (date un’occhiata anche qui e qui).
Siamo partite da Milano il 7 agosto in direzione Firenze, dove abbiamo trascorso una notte. Volevamo che le bimbe vedessero la città ed particolare il suo centro con lo splendido complesso del Duomo, Piazza della Signoria, Santa Maria Novella e Ponte Vecchio. La mamma la visita almeno due volte all’anno, in occasione di Pitti Bimbo, ma non ha il tempo di passeggiare e di godere della sua bellezza, quindi è stata quella che l’ha apprezzata di più.
Il giorno successivo ci siamo dirette a sud, verso la zona del Chianti, e nel primo pomeriggio siamo arrivate all’Hotel Villa Casalecchi dove abbiamo trascorso tre giorni e due notti. La posizione è strategica per visitare la zona: Siena, San Giminiano e Monteriggioni. Generalmente uscivamo la mattina, pranzavamo nel luogo che stavamo visitando e poi trascorrevamo il pomeriggio alla Villa, godendoci la piscina, il giardino e il parco circostante. Ristrutturata dal famoso architetto Giuseppe Poggi durante il XIX secolo, la villa è splendida, con le sue 17 camere arredate con mobili antichi, l’elegante sala da pranzo e i due soggiorni. Ha persino una cappella privata completamente affrescata.
Potete vederla nelle foto qui sotto, dove Anna e Alice indossano due abiti di Aletta. Non abbiamo potuto pensare a nulla di meglio se non uno dei nostri più amati marchi toscani: un abbinamento perfetto!
