In the meantime, some pics from our visit to the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.
Although Dubai would have been enough to fill our week, mom had been recommended to go and see also Abu Dhabi, so we kept one day specifically for it. And we are very happy to have done so! This captivating emirate is with no doubt worth the one-and-a-half-hour drive from Dubai.
Abu Dhabi is rich in culture and heritage, full of luxury hotels, fine restaurants and stunning attractions. We focused on two of them: the Emirate Palace and the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. On arriving to the Emirate Palace Alice asked if this was Jasmin and Aladdin palace, and we could not deny it. The construction costs were around 3 billion USD, making it the third most expensive hotel ever built. And no wonder, since most of the suites are furnished in (real) gold and marble, while the main building houses an expansive marble floor and a large patterned dome above picked out in gold (you can see it our Instagram stories). We took the pictures below right there, in the main hall, and you can see Anna wearing a beautiful lilac dress with pleated batwing sleeves from Aletta spring summer 2019 collection.
A final note: the colour of the building aims to reflect different shades of sands found in the Arabian Desert. What do you think? Did they succeed?

Questo è il terzo post sul blog della serie dedicata alle nostre vacanze a Dubai con i bambini – se avete perso i precedenti, potete seguire il tag #dubai2019 per vederli tutti. Stiamo ancora lavorando all’articolo che molti di voi ci hanno chiesto con l’itinerario dettagliato e tutti i suggerimenti su dove alloggiare e cosa fare a Dubai con i bambini. Nel frattempo, alcune foto della nostra visita all’Emirates Palace di Abu Dhabi.
Anche se Dubai sarebbe stato sufficiente per riempire la nostra settimana, alla mamma era stato raccomandato di andare a vedere anche Abu Dhabi, e quindi ecco un giorno dedicato anche a questo. In tutta onestà, siamo felicissime di averlo fatto. Questo affascinante emirato merita senza dubbio l’ora e mezza di viaggio da Dubai.
Abu Dhabi è ricca di cultura e di tradizione, brulicante di hotel di lusso, raffinati ristoranti e attrazioni che lasciano con il fiato sospeso. Noi ci siamo concentrate su due di esse: l’Emirates Palace e la Grande Moschea di Sheikh Zayed. All’arrivo all’Emirates Palace, Alice ha chiesto se si trattava del palazzo di Jasmine ed Aladino e non siamo riuscite a dirle di no. La costruzione del palazzo è costata circa 3 miliardi di dollari, rendendolo così il terzo hotel più costoso al mondo. E non c’è da meravigliarsi, dal momento che la maggior parte delle suite è abbellita con oro (vero) e marmo, mentre l’edificio principale ha un meraviglioso pavimento in marmo sovrastato da un’enorme cupola decorata d’oro (potete vederla nelle nostre storie su Instagram). Abbiamo scattato queste foto proprio qui, nel salone principale, in cui vedere Anna che indossa un bellissimo abito lilla con maniche a pipistrello plissé della collezione Aletta primavera estate 2019.
Una nota conclusiva: il colore del palazzo e degli arredi ambisce a riprodurre le diverse sfumature di sabbia che si trovano nel deserto arabo. Cosa ne pensate? Ci sono riusciti?
