On the afternoon of the first day at Pitti Bimbo 89, il gufo has presented their spring summer 2020 collection in the beautiful setting of the Serre Torrigiani, set up in the homonymous romantic-style garden that is located in the very heart of Florence.
The il Gufo spring summer 2020 collection originates from two ideas: a dichotomy between urban and natural elements.
The initial part of the fashion show is actually set in the city with the first group of kids wearing urban activewear, carrying skateboards, sporting headphones, chewing gums and bouncing with energy. The colours are strong and mixed to maximise the visual impact: black and white or yellow, as well as blue, green, orange and bright, powerful pinks. This was the “less conventional” and more innovative line of il gufo spring summer 2020 collection and it keep us going back and forth to intake it.
The second (and final) part sees the end of the urban adventure and the entrance to the secret garden – with a symbolic step through a door. Here the kids regain direct contact with nature and its inhabitants, losing track of the noise of contemporary life. This is reflected in the fabrics of the clothes that spam from denim, to linen and cotton, but also broderie anglaise and lace creating romantic dresses for girls who love to dream. The colour palette is faithful to the natural tones. It covers the entire range of browns and blues, in harmony with yellows and pinks from pastel to sorbet.
“This season more than ever we wanted to reassert our balanced and polite DNA, marking its character through the introduction of garments with ‘opposite’ details that are undoubtedly more modern, with a ‘rougher’ spirit and a vaguely rebellious attitude”, says CEO Alessandra Chiavelli.

Nel pomeriggio del primo giorno di Pitti Bimbo 89, il gufo ha presentato la sua collezione primavera estate 2020 nella splendida cornice delle Serre Torrigiani, allestite nell’omonimo giardino in stile romantico, che si trova proprio nel cuore di Firenze.
La collezione de il Gufo per la primavera estate 2020 nasce dalla dicotomia tra l’elemento urbano e l’elemento naturale.
Per questo, la parte iniziale della sfilata è stata ambientata in un contesto urbano con un primo gruppo di bambini che indossa look urban active, ha skateboard sotto il braccio, porta cuffie per la musica, mastica gomme americane e si muove con grinta ed energia. I colori sono forti e a contrasto per massimizzare l’impatto visivo: bianco e nero oppure giallo, ma anche blu, verde, arancione e rosa intensi e brillanti. Questa è la linea “meno convenzionale” e più innovativa della collezione primavera estate 2020 de il gufo e ci fa andare avanti e indietro continuamente per comprenderla e farla nostra.
La seconda (e ultima) parte della sfilata segna la fine dell’avventura urbana e segna l’ingresso nel giardino segreto – sancito con il passaggio simbolico oltre una porta. Qui i bambini recuperano il contatto diretto con la natura e i suoi abitanti, e prendono consapevolezza del rumore della vita quotidiana. Il cambiamento viene riflesso nei tessuti degli abitini che vediamo sfilare. Vanno dal denim, al lino e al cotone, ma anche al sangallo e al pizzo che danno vita a capi romantici per bimbe che amano sognare. La pallet cromatica è fedele ai toni naturali. Copre l’intera gamma dei marroni e degli azzurri, in armonia con i gialli e i rosa dal pastello al sorbetto.
“Abbiamo voluto più che mai questa stagione riconfermare il nostro DNA equilibrato e garbato, marcandone il carattere attraverso l’introduzione di capi con dettagli “contrari”, decisamente più moderni, dallo spirito più “ruvido” e da un atteggiamento vagamente ribelle”, dichiara l’AD Alessandra Chiavelli.
