Discovering the majestic Milan Duomo terrace in Valmax

You might not know it, but on the roof of the Milan Duomo, protected by a forest of gothic spiers and rampant arches is a hidden gem! A majestic terrace of over 8.000 square meters which makes it the church biggest rooftop in the world. From there the view of the city and of Piazza del Duomo, with its beautiful geometric decorations, is stunning.
But… how to get to the Milan Duomo terrace? There are actually two ways to do it. You can go up on foot, climbing the 251 steps needed to reach the first level of the terrace. Or, you can go up by the lift that will lead you directly to the beginning of the roof tour. We chose this option and got a fast track ticket, that for a little extra allows you to skip the (usual) long queue and to go straight to the top. Your visit will then be enjoyable and relaxed. And…when to visit the Milan Duomo terrace? The access to the Milan Duomo terrace is available all year around, every day from 9.00AM to 7.00PM and the ticket is 9,00€ on foot (4,50€ reduced) while 13,00€ by lift (7,00€ reduced). However, the best time to visit Milan Duomo rooftop is short before sunset, when the marble gets shaded in orange and pink.
We went to the Milan Duomo terrace on a Saturday morning with Ariana, Federica and Beatrice. We took the path that goes around the Milan Duomo terrace and the girls love to see the beautiful architecture and the view. This is indeed the perfect way to spend a special afternoon in Milan and to see our beloved city from a completely different angle!

Forse non lo sapevate, ma sul tetto del Duomo di Milano, protetta da una foresta di guglie gotiche e di archi rampanti, c’è una gemma nascosta! Una maestosa terrazza di oltre 8.000 metri quadrati che la rende il terrazzamento calpestabile di una cattedrale gotica più grande al mondo. Da lì la vista della città e di Piazza del Duomo, con le sue meravigliose decorazioni geometriche, è semplicemente sbalorditiva.
Ma … come si accede alla terrazza del Duomo di Milano? In realtà, ci sono ben due modi per farlo. Si può andare a piedi, salendo i 251 gradini che danno accesso al primo livello della terrazza. Oppure, si può salire con l’ascensore che conduce direttamente all’inizio del tour. Noi abbiamo scelto quest’opzione e non solo, abbiamo preso un biglietto con fast track, che a fronte di un piccolo extra consente di saltare la (generalmente) lunga coda e di andare direttamente in cima. Potrete così concedervi una visita più piacevole e rilassata. E …quando è meglio programmare la salita alla terrazza del Duomo di Milano? Vi si può andare praticamente tutto l’anno, ogni giorno dalle 9.00 alle 19.00. Il biglietto è di 9,00€ a piedi (4,50€ ridotto) mentre di 13,00€ con l’ascensore (7,00 € ridotto). Crediamo che il momento migliore per visitare la terrazza del Duomo di Milano sia poco prima del tramonto, quando la superficie marmorea si tinge di arancione e rosa.
Noi siamo salite sulla terrazza del Duomo di Milano un sabato mattina con Ariana, Federica e Beatrice. Abbiamo seguito il percorso che gira tutto intorno alla terrazza del Duomo di Milano e alle bimbe é piaciuto un sacco ammirare la splendida architettura e la vista. Ci è sembrato un modo perfetto per trascorrere un pomeriggio speciale a Milano e vedere la nostra amata città da una prospettiva completamente diversa!
