Polo Ralph Lauren Holidays and Epiphany tradition
Polo Ralph Lauren Holidays and the Epiphany tradition of taking the Christmas tree down
Have you already taken down your Christmas tree? Well, we have not!
We went back to Milan the third of January, after a week in the mountains and a week on the Red Sea – you can see our stories on our Instagram highlights – and since this year we decorated our Christmas tree just before leaving, we all ended up voting to keep it and enjoy it a little longer despite the bad luck.
Yes, because apparently keeping the Christmas tree after Epiphany, the 6th of January, could bring bad luck – see also here. However, some people believe that taking the tree down early could bring bad luck too. It used to be believed that spirits hid in the holly and ivy of the Christmas tree and to take the tree down too early would affect the harvest.
Grandma which is very traditional has taken down the one you see in the pictures below right on Epiphany. We took these photos on Christmas morning, while we were waiting for the whole family to gather together for lunch. The girls where so excited and they spent the whole day playing with their cousins with the new toys that Santa brought.
Hope you all had great Christmas holidays
