Christmast at the time of Covid: memories and plans of a very different Christmas
Five days and it will be Christmas, but this year it won’t look exactly the same as it usually does!
We have always spent Christmas at grandma’s house with our extended family. We have breakfast with Santa and then we sit around the Thanksgiving table almost all day, while the kids play with the new toys. But in this period of uncertainty, we were unsure to be able to do so also this year, till Friday evening. Under the current new rules, we can say we have been lucky! In fact, since grandma lives in our same region, we will eventually be able to go there. We are planning to leave on Tuesday, as soon as the girls get off school, and stay for the festivities.
For this reason, over the weekend, we briefly met with our neighbour and dear friend Laura and her son Gabriele, for the Christmas greetings and for sharing the gifts. We have been very careful in keeping physical distances and following the precautions, but especially with little children, such as Aurora, we allowed some intimacy. And since we wanted to have some memories of this Christmas at the time of Covid, we took the photos that you can see below!

If Christmast at the time of Covid is challenging for adults and grown-up kids due to the difficulties and the restrictions we are facing, it certainly cannot be defined “simple” for the little ones such as Aurora. Our little girl has asked us several times if and when we will go to see grandma and if this year Santa Claus will come or not because of the virus.
